Meet The Team

Iain Muggoch
Managing Director
Iain has been around the wine business for as long as he can remember. His first job as Tony Laithwaite’s ‘gofer’ gave him the foundations of his knowledge before becoming a management trainee for Direct Wines.
His illustrious career has included running a wine club in South Africa where he sold wines to the local market, playing a key role in The Big Dinner Party – a collaboration with Marks and Spencer and The Variety Club of Great Britain – and as a fine wine buyer for one of the UK’s leading wine merchants, Bibendum Wine. In 2013, Iain created RedHeads Wine, a winery in South Australia. He now spends half of his time in Bordeaux, allowing him to maintain a close relationship with the operations for BD69.

Matt Eggens
Commercial Manager
Matt’s career with wine began 25 years ago getting to know wines stacking supermarket shelves before working for an off-licence chain in stock and buying.
He has extensive experience both on-trade and off-trade, and in everything from sales to operations. As our Commercial Manager, he is responsible for BD69’s business operations and strategy.

Will Knight
International Account Manager
Will’s previous experience in hospitality and sales, paired with his passion for wine, meant moving to the wine industry was a natural progression in his career.
This passion led to him studying for and gaining his WSET qualifications during lockdown. Will started his journey within the retail side of Direct Wines before becoming the International Account Manager for BD69 where he manages relationships with all our agents.

Aisling Brown
Marketing Manager
With a demonstrated career in the food and drink industry, Aisling is well attuned with bringing start-ups and leading brands to life.
She also played a pivotal role with wine brand Madame F, taking the brand from concept to launch within the UK retail sector. At BD69, Aisling works with newly established wine brands to create brand awareness and go-to-market strategies using a multi-channel approach that includes PR, social media, influencer marketing and trade.
